Hi all,

Silly question — but this is about 4-wire data-return seed pixels, not the 4-wire data-backup type.

If I want to take the data signal from the end of a pixel run and return it back to the start (so I can hop across to the next chain of pixels on a separate string), do I simply connect the Data Out at the end of the run to the Data Return wire at that same end? What I want is to have the input and output at the start of the string so I don’t have to zig zag my wiring up and down poles. I suppose it’s just like a curtin string.

I hope that makes sense.

Yup. That’s exactly how it works.

Thanks for the reassurance! I thought that was right. I’ll check my wiring and settings in xlights. My return poles aren’t lighting up, thought I’d double check I was doing it how I thought they worked.

Pixel stakes? I know there’s some limits on how long the data will travel down a return wire — but 50cm or so should be fine. (I’m running some 2.5m)

All fixed! Turned out to be a bad string. I think the data return wire had broken somewhere along the string. Replaced it and all working properly now.

Thanks Elf’s
