Hi,

I've taken the plunge into RGB pixels and constructed a Sandevices E6804 controller and purchased two 4 meter long RGB pixel strips from Ray Wu. I plan to cut these into 8 x 1 meter lengths to use as meteor/icicle lights.

To give the led strips some additional protection from the elements I plan to insert them into lengths of clear, rigid, PVC/acrylic tubing and seal the end with silicon. Does anyone know of a supplier convenient to Sydney who could help out with the clear rigid tubing?

Thanks in advance,

Grant

Thanks for the heads-up on that product. I'll head to Bunnings this weekend and take a look.

I found this product at Bunnings on the weekend. Unfortunately it's open along one edge. It would be great if I was going to mount my pixel strips horizontally, but I want to completely encase the strip (sealing the ends with silicon) and mount them vertically (i.e like a meteor/snow fall) from the eaves/gutter.

I've found a couple of local suppliers of acrylic tube, but I'm looking at around $8-9 per 1 meter length of tube, which starts to add up. I may just have to cough up the $60-$70 unless I can find a more cost effective solution.

I'll report back if I find something :)

Thanks again,

Grant

Is there a PVC clear tube in the sprinkler section that's the right size for you?
