Addressable RGB and Arduino Uno

Hi All,
Im very new to this process but have been trying to setup my arduino uno as a dmx controller so i can use through xlights. After a bit of mucking around I cant seem to find the code to enable this function on the arduino.
From what I understand if i can get the code to work then the uno will act as a dmx controller and away we go ? Im only doing a test with a 2m strip of WS2812B RGB and controlling the uno via usb
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not DMX that you want on the Arduino but WS281x.
I know nothing about Arduino but https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NeoPixel and/or https://wp.josh.com/2014/05/13/ws2812-neopixels-are-not-so-finicky-once-you-get-to-know-them/ may give you a heads up.
There's a number of ACL users who drive pixels with Arduinos so hopefully 1 of them will give you some tips.
