Spotted at Aldi today.

$5.99 each, plastic dipped green or red.

..saw them as well and had that thought They are pretty open compared to the bunnings ones, but could easily cable tie some chicken wire/mesh and add a ton of nodes to them.

They work well with 50 pixel string I've been using them for 3 years and buy a couple more each year

I used the exact ones and used 5m pixel strip. Mounted the pixel strip to galvanised strapping from bunnings using zip ties. and wrapping the strip in a spiral. works great for mini trees

Great solution for mini trees. I use something very similar for my 68 mini trees. Wrapped in chicken wire with 100 nodes each. Easy too stack too
