Has anyone used these metal vents I found on Ebay for venting their controller boxes...

Sorry, not me. i just use a cheap $1.50 vent from bunnings and silicone some flywire to the inside.
Most of my box's are under eves etc, so no dramas so far.

You should be able to find plain aluminum ones with screen installed at any hardware stores like Lowes or Home Depot realk=ly cheap. I use them a lot for venting soffits on new construction, additions, and other projects. Very handy but the SS ones sure are expensive! I only pay $1.50 for 4" aluminum ones from one of my suppliers and I know that they can be found even cheaper.
