Audacity Edit help

Does anyone know how to.. Drag open clip in Audacity

When you cut / split / delete part of a clip/track - but then need to drag clip open to expose more of the track. ?
(not undo)

I am no expert but what I do is split the track then copy / paste the split section onto a new track so the original track is always there for latter use. Maybe not the best way but it works! Particularly as in Audacity I can move a split section anywhere in the track which makes it easy to work with. cheers

I'd have to check tonight but I'm not sure if Audacity allows this? Once you cut or delete a section out it's gone (but not final until you re-save it)
I can jump in Zoom tonight to go through with you if you like?
