Audio editing on Audacity

At lunch today I was asked to do a quick edit on a file, so I decided to record and share my process.
The drop down menus didn't get captured in the recording but I advise what they are in my voiceover. Enjoy

Thanks for the track DJ. You made that look very easy. I struggle with Audacity controls so that would have taken me an hour or more to edit. Great video

For quick edits like this I use Adobe Audition. For more complex edits like mashups etc I use Ableton Live.
Both are not free and probably a bit too complex for the blinky audiences needs.

BTW - I find myself reaching for Audacity more and more. Go figure.

I did a year of sound production at TAFE (college) after finishing high school and was top of class for digital audio editing. It's just a skill that I've managed to maintain but never got to do as a paying job.

What? You are supposed to get paid for this stuff? Perhaps that is why I reach for the free Audacity.
(For every paid gig, there were 2 "charity" gigs. Not complaining, just making note. BTW - Retired 2 months short of my 50th year doing it!)
