After lurking on here for a while seeing all the awesome things others have done, I think I am ready to jump in and have something up for 2017.

While I want to do a lot more, I am going try to start small and cheap with some glowing corflute based ornaments.

Where I seem to be stuck is finding a good source for 4 core cable to extend the length between the 4 wire LEDs I hope to use.
It seems hard to find 0.82mm2 (18awg) 4 core sold by the metre - any tips on where to get some in Melbourne?
 
I would keep an eye out for alarm cable and the like on gumtree or ebay.
Maybe if you have a masters store near you, dive in and pick up any scraps you can this weekend.


I would look at 100m rolls also, as it is a lot cheaper in the long run and you will end up using a lot of it if you get hooked ::)


This my 3rd year in and I am up to 900m of cable.

Thats what I found too, only really available in 100m+
Since I am only doing short runs ~20cm, I think I will try using 2x 2 core cables and join with tape or heat shrink to help it stay together.
