I know we have some very clever people out there, so here's my question - I need to bend some rope light (Big W) into some very tight radiuses for my "Merry Christmas" sign. Has anyone been successful bending it back on its self for the up leg of the "h, i, t" and the "m". I had a thought of using a heat gun to encourage the tube to bend but concerned the internal structure of LEDs and resistors may fail, any ideas.

I have done this successfully. Have a look at the internal structure and you shoul be able to see which way the rope will bend safely.
Leaving the rope light in the sun to warm up first will also make it easier to bend.

Agree with JPB. I also just plugged them in and left them on while working. That way it is easy to see the internal wiring and you can kink them safely but better is they heat up making them more pliable and the moment you kink them incorrectly a section will die and you can twist it back before you have permanent damage.
