The pigtails will use either 0.5mm2 or 0.75mm2 cable which is good for 5A or 7.5A. Cat6 cable (which is a fair bit thicker than Cat5) is about 0.2mm2 which is "good" for about 2A max. If it's power wiring that you are extending then you are better off trashing a cheap 3 or 4 core mains (240V) extension lead. It's typically 0.75mm cable. [/QUOTE]
