NOTICE OF SITE OUTAGE - Follow up announcement regarding AusChristmasLighting moving to a new forum software system
Please see the initial migration announcement for details of what is changing.
When will the site outage start?
Tuesday 25th April, approximately 8:30 pm AEST. Some areas may be temporarily accessible after this time but may close without further notice.
How long will the site be unavailable?
Providing nothing unexpected occurs that hasn't already been uncovered by a series of private test migrations, the new site may be accessible as soon as Friday 28th April. The new wiki may require a longer outage window.
What can I do during the outage?
Updates will be posted to the AusChristmasLighting Facebook page to advise when the new site is up and running.
A temporary chat will be available during the migration with a small selection of 2016 display videos also playable below the chat. We can't begin to fathom what might happen if people who self-proclaim their Christmas Lighting Addiction Problem didn't have somewhere to chat with other members . The temporary chat client is located outside of the main AusChristmasLighting website area to avoid disruption. Please note that messages sent/received through this temporary chat pass will through third-party servers.
Where/how can I access the pictures I submitted to the old media section?
You'll be able find your pictures - as well as a snapshot of the old forum and wiki - at the following link: https://old-forum-archive.auschristmaslighting.com.
Please note that this link will expire in a few months' time and as a result this read only area will become unavailable.
A note about changes to emails from AusChristmasLighting
AusChristmasLighting email notifications will soon be sent from do_not_reply@auschristmaslighting.com. This is an outgoing/sending email account only and so any email messages sent here will bounce (be rejected) and you'll be reminded to communicate through the AusChristmasLighting site. You may like to whitelist this new account to prevent your notifications accidentally being categorised as spam by your email service or software.
And last but not least, a new addition to the moderating team - darylc!
AusChristmasLighting welcomes darylc as the latest addition to the moderating team to help with the family friendly vibe we inscribe across the site include the forums and chat. His appointment will become effective once the new forum software has opened to posting. Welcome to the team, darylc.
