Configuring the ECG-P12R

I am trying to set up my ECG-P12R for a 24 string mega tree. I am attempting to use two 42 pixel strings per network. The plan is to run 42 pixels up the tree and then another 42 down to make two strands.


This is the string configuration that I have entered:


ACT: Checked STRING TYPE: WS2801 START SLOT: 1 PIXEL COUNT: 84
Reverse, Null Count, and Repeat Count have no entries. RGB Conv is RGB>RGB




Effect Parameters for the first network are (all 12 networks are basically the same):


01A: ACT: Checked START PIXEL: 1 PIXEL COUNT: 42
01B: ACT: Checked START PIXEL: 43 PIXEL COUNT: 84
01C: No entries
01D: No entries




On the Main Page, I get the following:

I have read and tried to set up according to Eddy's 33 page guide, but I am obviously missing or misinterpreting something. Heck, it took me almost an hour to realize that I had to change the DIP switches from the as shipped (Test) configuration to the Normal Mode just to access the configuration settings ... duh, not to swift of me! Also, I have not updated the firmware to 2.0a. I figured it was not necessary since I am not using the TLS 3001 or TM180x pixels. Should I upgrade the firmware?

effects are wrong.

should be:

start pix 1, pix count 42
start pix 43, pix count 42

you are telling it to do 42+84, it should be 42 + 42

That 84 should be 42 as well

Guess I am living proof that one can't see the forest for the trees. As soon as I read the responses, the light turned on. After two days of staring at it and rereading the guide, I was only looking at the trees! (Of course,I don't have many trees to look at here in the middle of the desert!) Dumb mistake!!! Thank you, everything works as designed!
