I've used this online calculator for creating woodworking cut lists before but never thought to use it for cutting pvc tubing/conduit/mounting strip etc.
It allows you to calculate the amount of stock material to purchase/procure and then cut to minimize wastage. Though designed for sheet material (eg plywood sheeting) just set the width of the cut material to match width of stock. Probably harder to explain than to actually use.
Just used it to confirm how many lengths of mounting strip I can get from 3 x rolls for a 4 metre high mega tree. Added a little extra safety margin to allow for hole spacing/alignment.
