DMX Control via UART

Hi All
Just had my K4 delivered and I'm wanting to run 4 DMX spots in my show this year (my first show and Xmas Light virgin). The board has a UART header that I'm taking can run DMX fixtures? My question being what do i need in-between the UART header and the first DMX light, would it be a decoder or can you get a UART to DMX lead and go direct? Any help would be great.
