ECG-P12S Setup - String Speed

I am setting up the string configuration and want to get a better grip on what the speed setting should be. I only have two types of pixels, ws2811 and ink1003 (which runs on ws2811 protocol anyway). What would be the expected speed range to work with these pixel types? What things will require the speed setting to be changed? eg string length, nodes, strips, voltage. I gather there is a typical range for each pixel type but was trying to a better feel for how it works.
