Faces on two matrices

I have two 4x8 matrices models that I joined together in a group as an upper and lower. Is there a way to place a face across the group? I only see the choice to edit faces on each individual matrix. Each matrix is wired in a vertical pattern so the string starts and finishes at the bottom. Other than making a custom model,is there a way to make this work in xlights?

Think you can use layer settings, the black section in there you can move the green dotted line around the black window and divide it into two separate windows. i think thats what you need?

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually doing the opposite. I have two separate matrix models that I need to act as one. I've used the setting you mentioned to divide a matrix into separate areas.

Oh ok. you should be able to do it in your group model i think without making a custom model.

Apply an image effect to the group and point the effect to the face image file
