Faces with built in Fade in/out

I am new so go easy . I purchased a Sequence from a well known vendor and the faces in the sequence fade in and out very nicely. on the "FACES" Effect there is a green and red line above the face icon .... Is this some sort of preset. I would love to figure out how to do that. Thank you all

You can change the fade in and out timings.
Click on the effect, and change in layer blending.

This can apply to all effects.

I dont have Layer blending. Maybe I do just not found it yet ....lol

You may have closed the window off.
You can re-open it under View > Windows > Layer blending (adds a tick to say it's open).
Or, Click reset to default.
