By no means am I advocating for this controller, but I powered it on for the first time today. I can only compare it to my old Falcon 16v3 that is problematic. Setup was easy and fairly straightforward. I avoided hiccups I had as a newbie with the Falcon. Both are similar and no negative to either. Once powered and able to access, there are some features that I really like. Falcon may have them with firmware updates, but I don't know.

  1. Setup was a breeze. Most likely it was because I already knew how to do a lot from the Falcon. I don't see any advantage of one over the other.
  2. The "50 Mark" or whatever it is called test feature is great. Helps count pixels easily on a string.
  3. Mounting plates and brackets for the PSU is very helpful. Slight edge would go to Genius here, but a backer mounting board solves it with Falcon if they don't have something comparable.
  4. I like the click lock Ports on the board more than the screw in types. It is just preference versus function. It is nice, but would it be an overall deciding factor? No.
It will be a while and most likely beyond this first year to see benefits or negatives either way. All I can say is that there are good things about it that "may" be better than Falcon but nothing that would sway a decision either way.
