Not too sure about the Lurking Elf tag I have been given but you get that, I currently have 0 Led Christmas lighting, but do have 20 years experience with live venue sound and DMX Lighting design and programming.

will be a steep learning curve but the challenge is what will retain my interest I believe.
however starting from scratch is the most difficult part.

Lighting background will probably help a bit in this hobby! Welcome to the team. Where are you located (profile says outside of Aus) but if within Aus you might like to try and attend a Mini expo/meetup that are being planned for mid year.
