hello from Chile

hey there, im pretty new and i just joined to learn, i want to run a show next year and i know literally nothing, i started watching a buncha of videos on youtube and reading a lot, problem is english its not my native language so it gets hard sometimes (god bless youtube's subtitles)

i like xmass and i like more xmas's lights, this is my house nowadays (see pict), and though i love it, i want to jump into pixels but i hope i still have a chance to keep part of my actual lights for next year, so i went to LOR's site and watched some AC boards. Thing is in Chile we use 220v so im not sure what to buy, so i said to myself "these guys r the ones who can help me" and here i am... (because 220v its the same than 240v, right ?)

in LOR´s site theres a board that offers 240v option ( http://store.lightorama.com/ba16chpa.html ) PRO Series LOR1602W for 397.80usd, shud i get that one ???


i have so many more questions to ask, but this is just my "hello" =/

I would not advise you to buy a LOR 240V controller at this stage. Do your light sets have plugpacks that lower the voltage? If so then a DC cotroller is likely to be a better option. The exact one to buy will depend on the wiring of your light sets. If you do determine that you need a 240V controller, try asking whether anyone has a second hand one for sale. They are usually much cheaper second hand because members of this forum stop using them in favour of pixels.
