Started doing animated lights about 15 years ago. Bought an 8 channel controller at home with preprogrammed songs. Being an EE, said I can do this. So bought a DIO card 2 SSR relay boards on eBay and wrote some primitive sequencer software to control it. The following year found out that LOR would control the DIO boards so I switched to that (32 channels . Then got 2 16 channel LORs and then 2 more. Then built some DMX floods and when LOR started supporting DMX I was happy. Around 2011 built my first-pixel tree (378 pixels) and was using superstar lights. Have been doing shows every other year. This year LOR dropped support for My DIO board . So got 2 more 16 channel LOR controllers to replace the DIO controllers and started my new journey to maybe full RGB. Now playing with the Falcon F48 and xlights in the garage and excited for next year. The only problem is, daughter likes the look of incandescent Christmas lights over RGB, so may have to do 2 shows, old school and new.
