OK, I'm not new to animated lighting. I started with d-light controller and incandescent lights, then moved onto LOR's with LEDs, and, after a 5 year break, now starting with RGBs with SanDevice E682. I have been gather parts over the past years and my wife finally said you need to JUST DO IT! Therefore, I will be lurking around trying to get insider knowledge with programming with will be probably with X-Lights and away from LOR.

Welcome to ACL.
Grab a copy of the ACL101 and have a read if you haven't already. Xlights is definitely the way to go for sequencing. Free, a massive user base and features that other sequencers only dream of.
