Welcome to ACL. The rabbit hole of pixels and xLights goes deep but we’re all friendly.

A couple of things to point out —
- there’s often people hanging out in the chat room, it’s a good place to ask simple questions.
- If you’re on FB there’s an “unofficial auschristmas lighting” page that’s worth joining.
- When you’ve played with xLights for a bit - make sure to open a thread asking for ideas
- We will have an in-person meetup in Melbourne (probably July 5th/6th this year). More details to be confirmed in the next couple of months.
You could actually spend all of 2025 experimenting with xlights and sequences. With all of the effects, effect settings, render styles and everything else you could easily spend a day on each effect learning what each one can do. Then you add extra layers and the options for layers and things go up exponentially.
