Completely new to Christmas lighting so this is a whole rabbit hole for me. Main aim for this year would be to wrap a large tree in our front yard in static lights. Programed display might be a next year thing?

I originally came here looking for where people buy their lights from especially as I will need a lot for the large tree - any advice on that would be great.

This is what I was hoping to achieve but not sure I'm ready to drop $1k on the idea just yet.

Cheers

If you're looking just to wrap a tree then something like 1 or more of https://www.bunnings.com.au/lytworx-warm-white-fairy-lights-1500-pack_p0312432 would potentially do the job.
I don't know if these specific lights use the same controllers as a lot of the Lytworx lights but if they are the usual 31V controller for the 2 wire 2 channel lights then my DMX2-24 in ready to run can run and control up to a dozen strands of these lights. You can run the lights standalone like the existing controller or with the aid of a usb dmx dongle you can control the lights from a pc.

I'd also recomend the bunnings lights unless your doing them to music or animaion, then i recomend seed pixels.
