Sometimes it is nice to say you love where you live, I can always say that when I see things like the attached.
That was the sight this morning on the harbour just a few minutes outside of town... A simple ATV ride for an hour and I usually see fox, owl, deer, rabbit, occasional wolf/coyote, and if up north a moose, bear etc...

I know the feeling well, getting to see you native wildlife every few days. This week alone I have run over 4 snake, got 1 kangaroo & 2 owls while driving buses. Killed the lot of them :eek:

Mind you I have also managed to run over a crab in the bus.
 
I guess the main difference between Canada and Australia is no ice on the road so you can keep the bus straight and aim better hey Doug.

I agree with you, so much nicer (IMO) not living in town.
Don't have the wildlife to the extent that you do but then again I don't have the extreme winters you do. :)
