$4 worth of materials.

Just two drain water push caps these are 90mm

5x pixel modules.

Hot glue the modules to the cap, hot glue if you had a dead module is easy to break off if required.

Note how they are facing, means less soldering! You can't see it, but there is a hole in the middle, that means I can pull through the excess wire between then modules on 2 pairs.

I'm going to put the second cover on it, and seal all the holes.

Just a photo of it in action.

There is only one four core cable running into it, there are four colours.

Red (+)
Black (G)
Blue (data in)
Then the data wire goes through the star

White (data out)

I have two plugs, one going in, and one going out.

On the two plugs, the reds and blacks are connected.

On the into star plug, the blue wire (data in) feeds into the star, the white out connects to the blue wire on the data plug.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but that's how I made them.

I will end up making 8 of them.

What a cool, yet simple idea!
Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely be following your direction to make a few of my own.

Very cool idea. Might have to steal..... Um I mean borrow that idea for this year. :)

Word of warning, the advice of hot glue is coming true, I've had a couple come loose, so will need a stronger bonding glue.

I may of been heavy handed... I don't make jeweller watches for a reason.

Overall though, really love the looks of them, I'm seriously thinking of making a ton of these suckers.

They are fiddly to make, I've got to think of waterproofing them yet.......
