Another new guy here with the same enthusiasm and excitement exploring this hobby as most others just getting started. I read the 101 manual and have been absorbing as much as possible to avoid the same old questions us newbies always have. My plans, Christmas 2018, XLights, 12vdc, RGB nodes primarily, FM broadcast with sign, maybe some floods on the house to cover area the first year, maybe one singing tree/bulb. So here is what I am thinking: single strands across the garage peak and the front gutter (I would like to eventually have icicles here). Vertical single strands at the corners of the garage and right corner of house. Framing the windows and entry. 4 snow flakes on right corner of house, Snow flakes either side of garage, Star in garage peak, 8 foot mega tree ( I assume this is close to standard height with the strips and tree kit), about 4 mini trees and 4-6 arches near the street. So at this point I am weighing some options and not fully committed to any model elements or layout. My house is a Ranch style White Brick with the front of the house at 81 feet across and a 25 foot wide garage on the left sticking out about 6 feet with a peak roof. I tried to provide picture but I do not have anything off the computer so no URL I over analyze everything I do trying to be respectable out of the box and then progress from there. I am looking at what would provide the most bang on coverage of my area and welcome your learned opinions. Are my tentative plans too ambitious? If so, where is the best place to cut back and save for the following year? Skills: I can fab anything, decent at computer basics, networking computers- just enough to fowl things up. Thanks a bunch, looking forward to sharing.
The title of our introductory lighting manual contains a three digit number. What is that number? Clue: Display basics forum
