hi all, have two problems both similar:
1 Gutter 4x50 pix ws2811, can only light up 63 of the pix, in HW test and XL4 test and my Xl4 test Sequence RGB, the lights only go this distance, have changed out strip and same result, i cant see error in setup but i'm looking for so long obviously missing something.
2. candy caners 8x8 pix ,lights stop at 36th pix, HW test pattern runs ok all on, xl4 test error shows up,
Again looked for last 5 nights but cant see my erro ,
so may be fresh eyes will be more successful.
Cheers and thanks in advance

Not sure if this is your problem but you have universe 25 starting channel 1 with 600 channels on output 4 and on output 16 you have universe 25 starting channel 211 which i think should be universe 26 start channel 91

thankyou andy - set 16 up as alternate output to test with but didn't get the chance , if its not ouputing to anything physical would it upset the boards ouput
anyrate i will fix that problem and see how i get on, appreciate the look over, (my eyes were glazing)
cheers Boof63 :)

the advatek controller has the gutter pixels in a continuous block from U25-1 through to U26-90
also that output is reversed

but your x-lights screen says U25 has 300 channels and U26 has 300 channels
do not use xlights but could that be the issue (causing a mismatch between the two)

Yes as Prof said, there is a mismatch between xlights and the controller on universes 25 and 26.
You have told xlights that universe 25 has 300 channels and Universe 26 has 300 channels.

But in the controller you have universe 25 using 510 channels and universe 26 using 90 channels.

problem is i am trying to get 1 output cover the 200pix
Hence the difference as xl cant handle more than 512 channels per universe but the pix can take a lot more per output.
so assume i'm wrong ,
1. if xl setup stays same then pix should be U25-1 to u25-100
and u26-1 to u26-100.
Will pix then pickup the overlap if i dont have a physical connection to U26
2. xl setup becomes u25 510 ch and u26-90 and do the same for pix ??
sorry to be pain but i am stumped as to why it aint working, have another 2 strings/multiple which are fine from this board but two not (so pretty sure its me.
Await clarification and thanks for answers

*update have my candy canes working now (wrong ui on wrong output in pix- good now), still cant get gutters to work properly though, again must be my end)

Boof,

I have 5 mini trees all running full 5m strip 2811 - thus 50 pixels/150 channels per tree.

I have attached my layout in advatek long range. Hope it sheds some light.

I presume you have those four gutter runs all connected to each other in series... is that right?
According to your pics you have told XL that universe 25 has 300 channels and Universe 26 has 300. So the pixlite won't deal with the extra 210 channels it thinks it should be dealing with for Universe 25 because XL says theres only 300. And the pixlite will only deal with 90 of the 300 channels for universe 26 because it is being told there are only 90 not 300.
Also I notice that you have that output on the Pixlite with reverse ticked.
Can you try changing the info in Xlights so that universe 25 is 510 and Universe 26 is 90 to match the pixlite and then re-render your sequence with the new XL settings and then run the sequence outputting to lights from XL and see if they all light up. Oh and perhaps unitck the "reversed" part in the pixlite screen unless you particularly want it to go backwards.

I will also check my setup at home as I am outputting more than one universe on my P2's. I've got a pixlite 4 I'll check with too.

If you look at Universes 33 and 34 on my setup tab and on my pixlite 4 setup, you can see that on the pixlite4 I have the lights for two sets of triple arches taking up Universes 33 and 34 and both those come off output 2 from the Pixlite. They are all connected to each other in series like your gutter lights.
So all together those two arches joined together take up 290 pixels or 870 channels.
So in XL I have universe 33 setup as 510 channels and the remaining 360 are on universe 34.
The Pixlite is effectively setup the same way with start universe being 33 start channel 1 and the end universe 34, total pixels 290.

hi all thanks for input, rather than reinvent the wheel (something i seem liek and try and do) i just reset the xl4 and the pix setups for 2 univerese 25&26 and 300ch/100pix and added a physical connection from the output for uni16, amazing the lights turned on and did as supposed.
Was trying to save some cable lengths and and do what i could do on the old jsys p2.
so apologies to all but thankyou for your help and interest in sorting me out
Cheers Boof63
Merry Christmas everyone :) :) :) :)
