Hi, 2nd year doing programmable lights.
I want to do a matrix this year. I do have a spare 1500 pixels and was thinking of doing a 30x50 pixel matrix........ But then started hearing about p10s.
So just wanted some opinions on whether to just do the pixel matrix or go the p10 approach, pros/cons.
Thanks in advance for any input.

The biggest difference is the the P10 or better P5 panels is you need to make a enclosure compared to a pixel matrix. Plus the extra costs of panels, depends also what you want to use the matrix for.
If for mostly xLights effects then pixel matrix would be ok, if you wish to display videos then go with the panels.

Do you already have a matrix type prop like a MegaTree? If so then you may want a different type of matrix with the panels.

You may also want to consider the viewing distance which may want to consider for the pixel spacing / resolution if you go with the pixel matrix ie 1 inch, 2 inch etc
