Pigtail screw cap

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone had a way I could remove the screw cap on the end of pixel strip so I can slide them into a 3/4" PEX tube and then put the screw cap back on with cutting the wires or cutting the screw cap?

Any ideas?
 
It's easy, just warm up the screw cap with a blow dryer or heat gun just enough to make it flexible and pull it off. Just repeat the process to put it on.
 
I have the same recollection... First run a cable fishing tape through the PEX. Then attach to the female xConnect (once relieved of its ring). Pull the strip (or seeds I suppose) through. Reattach ring if desired (or just cut it off and seal in the tube).

2m strip tube? This is a one-person job.
For a 5m tube, it was nice to have 4 people... one to feed the strip in, 2 in the middle to keep the PEX from curling up, and one to gently pull the strip through... even still, we did destroy one of the strips that way, out of 32 attempts.

I "thought" that I had put the tip about dunking pigtail nuts in hot water if you forgot to put them on in the ACL101 (of which there is a new edition). A quick search didn't show me that I had. I do know that I have the tip on all of the pigtail links on my website. Everyone will eventually leave off a cap and it's a quick fix that saves resoldering.
