Hi peoples,
Need some advice.
I have got some static rope light elements in various voltages - 24vdc, 24ac, 36v ac.
I have a LOR 24 channel dc controller.(which will be driven via DMX from Falcon) which I will run at 24v dc
Questions;
1. Can I put a 24v relay on the output of a channel of the LOR board
2. Can I leave the plug packs of the elements plugged into 240v and use the relay to switch the output of the plugpack(which goes to the element).
This way I do not need to buy more power supplies.
I have plenty of 24vdc coil relays with high capacity contacts
Advice would be appreciated

Yes you can hook them up to the DC outputs. You'll need to protect the output by putting a diode across the coil to protect against back emf. There's an example somewhere in the wiki but my brief look didn't find it.
Yes you can switch the outputs from your plugpacks.

Thanks @AAH I understand the logic of the diode. I presume just a small 12v diode will do, or does it need to be rated at back emf voltage , say 500v at a large guess?cheers
