Sequencing and effects for DMX2-18

Hi Everyone

I am not sure if this is the right place but,

I am in the process of setting up some Christmas trees that are made up of the 2 wire type LED strings.

I have a Hanson DMX2-18 and i am using xlights to sequence

I can get the lights to turn on and off using the "on" and "off" command but that is about it.

So i guess what i am asking is what have other people done with this board and what effects are available

I've added some 2 wire icicles this year and to get them to sequence easily I decided to map them as pairs of single single colour nodes 1 above the other. This will allow me to do a few fancy things with them and I can create submodels with them as the 2 rows of icicles have different colours. The 16 sets of 2 wire icicles are in 8 groups at the bottom of the picture below. I just created a custom model to do it.

Yeah, i am really new to the sequencing side of this,
I think you lost me.

So I create new custom in the layout window
change string type to single color

Yeah i think i worked it out.

create new custom with two channels
string type as single colour

So i would do this for each tree, (or 9 in total for the channels for the DMX2-18)

Other than on / Strobe / Shimmer what other effects could i expect to work with this setup
