Hi All

I saw somewhere where someone gave detailed instruction on making a Christmas top hat with a pi zero and 8x32 flexible LEDs. Does anyone know the site that it was one?

Thanks for your help

Was a project they built at the Florida mini recently, there is a webpage but I can’t find the link. Wally’s lights sells the kit.

I’ve spoken to a few friends and we might be going to build some for the kids Easter hat parades. Wouldn’t mind seeing a group buy if there is other interest.

You don't need a kit from this US for this. You can support a local like SmartAlec https://smartaleclights.com/shop/

Pi zero is overkill if you just want some blinky but don't want to program and sequence. Just grab a mobile USB charger and run one of these with WLED installed. https://www.smartaleclights.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=59 and you get all sorts of choices and colours and effects on it.
If you want to sequence a pi zero can run FPP, no audio and you can slap on a pihat https://www.smartaleclights.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=68 with two outputs.
I have this running off mobile batteries for my kids wheelchair. I use a portable mobile wifi box, with a pizero for seated part, and then run two WLED for the wheels on their own powersupply which are also connected to the wifi and can FPP can talk to them.
Works well and I would just do it this way when I manage to get time to make a wearable. Would be awesome! :)

I just googled it there are loads of 8x32 flexible LED options. The link to the mini is out of stock. Just DIY it, make a few and make a few $$$ selling them.
