xlights not working on window 11

When I open it after downloading it ask me to open a file but there none there. however in windows 10 it open automatically

It's asking you to create a new folder for the xLights show and to select. It is working properly. I just installed it on a fresh Windows 11 and it did exactly what you said. That's not broken, just working as stated.
