I have a venue for as many minis as I want in Eaglehawk/Bendigo. I just have to work out when to have it and it will be on. It will be at the Eaglehawk Community House and the cost will be to decorate the house for a Christmas display. They can also provide meals.
If you're in Central Vic and would like to get along and learn or educate others then let me know. Currently I have no fixed date but will work out something that doesn't clash with the other minis or school holidays. There's room for 20 or so people in each of 2 rooms. It won't be livestreamed and there's no plans to record it.
Info on light types, controllers and sequencing with Xlights would be covered. DC fairy lights, rgb lights, pixels and P10 panels will all be there with plans to be able to control them on the day/s.

Any idea on date yet Allan?
Originally I was thinking in 2 weeks time but I haven't had any time to organise things. I'll look into things further and try to work out a date that doesn't conflict with school holidays and when the venue is available.

After being slack I finally got around to organising a date and time for a "mini" for Bendigo. Because of school holidays, long weekends and other commitments Tracey from the Community House and I decided that an evening meet and greet would be the way to go just before the Melbourne mini in case anyone felt like making the transition to the larger event. The plan is to have a bit of a meet and greet on Thursday 13th June between 6:30 and 8:30pm with potential monthly followups if there is the interest. If the interest in later events happens then eventually the lighting up and sequencing of the Community House will get done for Christmas.
Bringing a laptop and a copy of the ACL 101 would be beneficial but not required.
Sequencing with xlights and the different light types will be the major discussion with Q and A being the focus initially.
