I've seen the same with air ducting hose used.
I use a ducting hose to hide a fog machine backstage in my theatre.

But you're idea of using water mist....? yeah it would work. But do you want to be spraying the lights and people with water?
The water mist is also not going rise like fog and won't lingerer in the air.

It's just a waste of water vs the 200ml of fog fluid for a 2 hour show.

It was just a thought, obviously location dependant.. However using some of the waterproofing methods discussed during the online mini i don't see any issues with the water mist and the lights, and if the lights are not in the front line and on a roof/deck away from the road would't be spraying onto people.. However.. thats an interesting thought?? What if i had some way of controlling the water through some sort of an electronic control valve?? That could actually be a cool effect to spray water out onto the crowd during Let it go for example?? Drop it for a second or 2 when she says wind and snow?? I'm in QLD so even at 9pm it's still 28 degrees lol

Actually looked at something like that for my haunted house ride, but went with a car window washer to spray short mist of water onto the riders.
Also thought of using something like that as a water mist projection screen, but the don't provide a big enough screen.
