HI,
Looking to add some of the dumb pixels to my show this year ( have them lying around). I have bought Hansen electronics 2811DC15 and powered by a 31vDC power supply have the DC lights working fine. I have some others which are AC powered. When I hook them up to the DC power supply only every second light works, it I swap the connectors the other lights work.
Is there a proven solution to get these to work. Ideally an inverter I could put on the 1 output of the DC15 and create a square wave AC signal would do it.

thanks
Scott

Are they AC lights because they have an MFC using the 50Hz frequency for timing?
If you cut the MFC out the lights will not flash on their own and should work with DC.

When I hook them up to the DC power supply only every second light works, it I swap the connectors the other lights work.
Hansen has an H-bridge controller that should work.

Hi Scott
My DMX2-18 is the go for the dread 2 wire, 2 channel lights that are now the norm from Bunnings, Big W etc.

If the lights are set to static by the MFC then you could use a relay connected to the DC board. This obviously won't be dimming and it only controls the entire string as 1.
