What controller with input pin/triggers can run 700 tls3001 12 bit pixels

So I have lots of TLS3001 12 bit pixels that I thought would be great to use for my selfie wings as the colors will (should?) look better than standard pixels.

Only problem is all the newer F-prop, Genius "in and out" pi hat, even the baldrick, have all moved to only 3 wire pixel outputs.
Scratch that, my pixels have 4 pin connectors but are only 3 wire pixels. Silly bugger. Rest of problem still applies though.

I have a Falcon F16 that will do the job, but is extremely overkill for standalone prop.

I also have Advatek Pixlite16 that will run lights, but has no input capability.

Was thinking an 28D+ pi hat would be perfect, but alas no mention of TLS3001 pixels.

Interesting conundrum I have.

Basically looking for any insights/ideas on what would be a suitable option without using an entire Falcon F16 for one prop.

Personally I plug them into the F16, then put the buttons on my pi and get them to start effect sequences for the wings. These run in parallel to the main sequence.
 
WLED doesn't seem to have support for TLS3001.

I found a Pixlite 4 in my box of random controllers, so I think I'll be using that and a pi zero with some resistors to run a button. That will keep it all in the one control box somewhat stand alone. (Still connected to network so I can fiddle with sequencing and what not.)
 
Yeah - I was surprised when I didn't find support in WLED for it. It seems to pickup the new protocol variants pretty quickly (somewhat expected as the main open source pixel controller) - but still has a bunch of gaps in old ones.

@domhodgson - since you were asking about pixel variants that Baldrick doesn't support -- here's one for you.
 
As much as I'd like to be able to help with a software update.. I don't think we can add another pin to the ports ;)

Per the edit to the original post and my quick googling — it’s a 3 wire protocol with no clock (I fully admit I could be wrong here — never heard of it before today.)

Wled doesn't support 12bit, only 8bit
 
pixlite advantek can run the TLS3001 ( google search) - but you would need something like a switchy or a secondary pi with inputs to run the button
Why not use the primary pi? Non need for a switchy or secondary pi. No need for decidicated anything, can use ports on any controller in the show.

didnt think the pixelite was pi based ? i thought they needed a controller that could do the TLS3001 protocol and needed buttons ?
i didnt know the pi did TLS3001, im not sure many capes for PI do the TLS3001 protocol - i could be wrong?
 
He said he already has controllers that can run the TLS3001, F16 and Advatek's. You don't need a dedicated controller you can use one that is already part of your show.
