I'm looking for some ideas around how to create some house numbers that can light up (be it lit up internally or light up the wall and the numbers are sillohettes)

I'd like to be able to control the colours/patterns of them all year round, but also have the ability for them to be included as part of my normal Christmas show.
My main show player is a Pi loaded with FPP. My main controller that would be located nearby (during Christmas) is a Falcon F16v3.
I'm not sure what other hardware would be required for this type of project, but I'll mention that I have an Experiance Lights in & out pi hat, a spare pi & possibly a Hanson RPI-28D kicking around.
5v prefered, but open to 12v solutions if this would suit better, as I'll likely have power source in the nearby meter box all year round.
I'm open to either designing (with some assistance) and 3d printing the numbers and any other parts required, or if there is a better off the shelf solution that would be better to hack, i'm open to suggestions.

This topic was briefly discussed at the Melbourne Mini with @mccar but i've already forgotten the details, so figured may as well document here in case any otherds have done this or want to use as part of their research in the future.

Photo below of where the location of the numbers would go.

From the controller side -- Baldric, FPP and WLED all have local effects/controls for driving pixels during the other 11 months of the year. And schedules for turning it on/off. And then will connect into a show network to take DDP/e1.31.

For extra credit -- you could look at hooking up a sensor of some sort to a button input -- and getting that to trigger an effect to turn it on or change it's colour when someone walks up to the door.

There seems like there's a bunch of pre-lit ones on aliexpress that look reasonable in photos -- I wonder how easy the LEDs would be to switch out with some seed pixels/strip.
