Just letting everyone know, there is a new Beagle Bone - Called the BBE
Beagle Bone Enhanced - now made by sancloud
its the essentially the BBB, but with 1GB of ram, and a few sensors added, temp, baromoter, gyroscope
the industrial version, doe not have the gyrcscope or the baromoter , so it is essentially a BBB with 1 GB ram, and a 1GB ethernet

i have ordered 2 and will advise after testing if they are truly indeed a direct replacement for the original BBB on hanson BB Capes
from all current investigations, its should be a good alternative to the BBB boards, but i am only trying them in my hanson boards as they are all i have that runs the BBB currently

im hoping for a bit faster loading times, quicker response and faster uploads of sequences . and the extra ram should allow FPP to run a bit faster and smoother even if it is limited to 32Bit operating system for the BB

i will keep you all updated - boards due mid to late november

yes i know, the BBB works, but its just an experiment - if they work and perform better, they will be a upgrade / replacement option for others in the future

Use the FPP instance as a controller only - stream DDP/E1.31 to it - and all of those issues disappear :)
As a base system to just bash pixel data out, the beagles work well, even in their current state. Keep in mind that most pixel controllers have lower end processors in them, it's running all this extra processing stuff like having it run its own sequences which is what taxes it, along with all the bells and whistles being added to FPP that are show-player specific and not needed on a controller.

yeah

yeah i know, but it came up as an alternative, and it should be faster, so i thought why not try it - be the test rat
