Hey guys
I was just wondering what would be the best lights to use for my mega trees.
1 will be 7-10 ft and the other will be the existing tree (actual tree) converted into mega tree which will be roughly 20-25ft including trunk. I have seen people use bullet nodes or square nodes or strips

it depends..... I like 5v square nodes on strips.. as for a actual tree covered in lights one of the issues is wind blowing the tree around and damaging your lights... perhaps a festoon type would suit.... as i said "depends...." lol

Maybe get some boscoyo pixel strips and insert ray wu or similar pixels in. For the real tree that as Fing pointed out would have more movement that a steel trunk, you could use springs, like off a trampoline or something at the bottom to take into account the movement.
I, up until now, have used plastic coated steel wire, Clothes line, and cable tied pixels to it. But have ordered some of the Boscoyo strips as it looks way easier and will give perfect spacing.

But would the floods light up the tree enough? Cause what i was thinking was turn the tree into a sort of xmas tree and have some presents (boxes with lights wrapped around) at the bottom so it sorta looks like a big ass xmas tree... but alot of hassle for a newbie haha

We are obviously going on our perception of what the tree may look like. But there is always the option of having a ring made that would wrap around the tree and the lights would hang down to that and the ring then be supported to the ground via springs/bungy cord or whatever.
Also, you are the one that lives there so if you say there is no wind, then that is fine. I myself have next to no wind until the lights go up, then the easterly wind howls until I take them down. Or so it would seem.

Yeah i did consider that or something similar but being a newbie it might be to much of a task for my first year and i asked fing about the wind cause we live in the same town lol

The local council up here wrapped lights in a spiral pattern around the trunk of a huge Moreton Bay Figs.
They were Red, Blue, Green, Yellow (warm white?) and bright white above each other.
They extended them out along the thick branches and dotted hanging glowing presents over the tree.
Brisbane city Council, in front of the Royal Brisbane hospital, wrapped the Moreton Bay figs in bright white LEDS
in a spiral pattern and then hung loooong icicles from the Branches. That looked so cool.
We wrap lights around Jacaranda and Poinsettia trees down our driveway.
We also have some huge gum trees and we use laser projection for them.
