Creating custom spinner, star, snow flake all in one - programming individual groups of lights

HI Everyone,
I have been looking everywhere and cannot find a video or document on custom programming.
I have made a coro board with a spinner, star and snow flake all-in-one.
I want to be able to highlight either just the spinner or the snow flake or the star with effects or have them all on.
How do you group pixels together?

If any one could point me to a good 'how to' video etc that would be great, i have looked at several today and they do not cover this area.

Hi wanderanwills, I love this idea, it's like having 3 props in one!

(between Keith and Clyde there are not many xLights topics which have not been covered!)

I'd suggest searching firstly for videos on creating a custom model, from there you could choose to create a model for each shape/design or alternatively create one full model and use sub-models to define each shape.

I hope you don't mind, I like this idea and wanted to see how it would look so I went ahead and modelled it from your picture. Not really in the spirit of 'diy' I know, so feel free to ignore it but I've attached the .xmodel if you would like to use it.

In the layout screen select import, click and drag on your layout to place the model, select the file to import.

All settings and sub-models should be in place, just set your start channel.

This link goes to the post I did with the video of mine. Attached is the layout of my model from xLights. I made the spinner, star and snowflakes in the Sub-Models option of the model. See pics of the 3 done up.
