Well after an episode last week putting our display together . My good friend elf godbless so thankful for his help but unrealizing turned power off and on and spiked one of our rasberry pi so lucky wasnt critical times yet unlike last year I did same too 2 pi s christmas eve afternoon setting timer on house and wasnt very popular trust me! . But I then had to reformat cards and start again and had running just in the nick of time. Am also seriously considering getting backup pi s setup ready to go. But makes me think how lucky ive been so far as the universes channels etc etc are growing steadily over past years and my a4 notebook with my info is starting to get messy and confusing . So just wanted too pick your brains and see if I can find an easier more organized way !
Ps I think this would be a great subject too get into at the mini s
Thanks for any help guys

I use dropbox and save all important things to my dropbox folder including my XLights show folders, that way its automatically backed to the cloud and I can access it from anywhere using any device

I also have a external backup drive that automatically backs up new files and changes as they are created

I have not thought about it too much, in saying that last year I had my whole family syncing so everyone has a copy of vixen and all data on each of their computers.
I may look at google drive this year so everyone con log in a sync whenever they want and save me running around with a usb stick constantly.

I use Dropbox quite heavily like fasteddy, that way it's all being synced and backup on every change. Restoring files is a few clicks.

what I also do is once my show goes live I make copy of the FPPs USB drive with the sequences and prep another USB with everything, and do a FPP settings backup so I have all my config and settings, playlist, schedule etc backed up.
I also do the settings backup every time I change something after its gone live... Just in case

The FPP settings backup, will literally backup everything, config wise, universes, schedule, playlist, plugin settings. I wrote that whole feature because I wiped my universe config a few times, a few times too many haha

For my lighting data I use OneDrive. This gives me 5GB storage space on my free account. I have setup this account on my laptops and MacMini, so no matter what device I am using for sequencing I have the latest files.

When everything is ready I will move the relevant files across to my Pi which is on a totally separate "show" network in the garage. I can do that from the house as I have WiFi on my show network.
