Keeping candy canes upright in the front yard

Any ideas on this? With the rain in Victoria my candy canes have been falling over all over the place.

Currently we have 4 Velcro straps hot glued onto the spine of the candy cane, which is then strapped around a wooden stake in the yard. The stake itself is fine (barely moves), but the straps on the candy canes keep coming off entirely, resulting in it just falling off.

Seems as though we missed a step in cutting holes on the candy cane itself to loop Velcro through, so I’m hoping there’s some stable way of keeping these upright in the front lawn without having to constantly reglue the straps on to the candy cane.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I should mention these are made out of corflute, so these have a fairly slippery surface to begin with

if the canes are slipping down the pole, make a couple of small holes in the coro and cable tie around or under the velcro ?

I was thinking about that, but with the top of the candy cane sealed down, I figured threading the cable tie would be next to impossible...

I have 8 candy canes out in the yard. I put cable ties through the coro as i was building them and just looped it on itself. Did that in three places. Then i have just used another cable tie to go between the loops around the stake and they haven't moved at all. But to be able to do that you would have to open up your candy canes which isn't easy and time consuming.

I have 12 candy canes in my Garden. I use 1.2m single tomato stakes and these are cabled tied to the canes. Haven't had an issue with all the rain and wind. They are still standing.....

How did you run the cable tie? Around the front of the candy cane?

if you use the white opaque ties you could go right around the candy cane.
I cable tied a length of pvc pipe to mine during construction, then just slide it over a garden stake

Yeah I’ve gone with the white semi translucent cable ties and just joined two together to go the whole way around the canes. Hoping this holds a bit better!
