Hi you mad lot (you have to be part crazy to even contemplate doing controlled lights!)

I've been keen to take my displays to the next level and finally got approval (yes from the wife for those that are not wed yet) to invest. I've got limited time and knowledge and therefore I already invested in some kit from LOR who have been very helpful. Now I found this group I am sure I will have more questions but for now I am making my way through my first tune for a small Halloween "test" before I try the proverbial virgin Xmas display this year. Looking forward to learning and eventually maybe helping others one day.

Cheers,
Michael

Welcome to ACL.
It's a shame that you didn't find the group earlier as it could have saved you lots of money as going with LOR is about the most expensive way to get started. I know, I did it that way :D
Make sure you grab a copy of the ACL101 and have a read. Vast amounts of handy info and links in there.

Welcome to ACL!
Depending on your background and skill level, getting into the hobby can be a steep learning curve for some.
If you've already got the LOR gear then you should be able to get some animation happening this season.
Cheers, Graham

...LOR is about the most expensive way to get started.

Yes I kind of knew I was paying a premium but I was looking for something from one source that I know would work. They made a small error in the packing and they are shipping me 2 extra CCRs for free so the service has been fantastic. I guess you get what you pay for in their case. Once I get something going I will look to experiment and go DIY for expanding.

I did right way as soon as I joined. What a fantastic guide and well put together! Thanks contributors!
