Use the color bars effect on the matrix, in the dark.
3D model going to have to wait for another day.

Note: The longevity of this particular thing is not established. Not wind-tested, UV tested, or anything like that. Admittedly, it's sus.

I can only assure you about the beauty of the effect seeing it live. It lends itself to many effects such as wave, shockwave and many others. I built it with 366 pixels on 23 beams and 50 for the ground fuse. If you then add the fireworks sound to the song track, it becomes more realistic

So I got these "meteor shower lights electronic firework light" from the San Xin lighting company on Ali express. They are not available any more, but I recall that they were not cheap, over $100. I completely misunderstood what I was getting, they turned out to have fixed color LEDs and not addressable or controllable in any meaningful way, so in an attempt to salvage that, I gutted them and put the seeds in.

Not a course of action I'd recommend. I have no idea where you'd get a center ball like that separately, but gutting these was a somewhat tedious and expensive way to essentially just get a center ball and plastic tubes!

The center ball is ferrous, painted white. Cable glands through holes in it are what holds the clear tubes. There's plenty of room in the ball for all the soldering I did to make it work. There's also threaded tube through the ball, that keeps the two halves from falling apart, and provides the entry point for the wire.

Ah, yeah that search term bought them up. It would be nice, I wouldn't mind gutting one for the physical firework setup, though no pole for $145nzd... I have one of these to try out this year https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004780616506.html?
