Coro stars, Big W LED powered

I love being able to re-use and re-purpose things. These stars are still kicking along, I had some leftover RGB dumb strip that I added to breathe some new life into them. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqNOxmAlvkc

"The Great Crash of 2013" a.k.a. The Future of ACL site hosting

I use a digital pacific managed VPS on another forum that I am part of the web team for. Their support and uptime have been brilliant. However we chose for an Australian based server, cost wise now days I think ACL would probably be better off hosted outside of Aus (it costs us ~$140 a month...

I agree 100% with the other parts of your post, but I am pretty sure the current AJAX chat runs in Java anyway doesnt it?

I think looking into a better chat soloution might be best. Why not look at hosting an IRC server, this allows people to choose their own clients, and you can still using a java based app on the website.

    More Singing Trees

The look great. The first picture is quite small, did you weld them or how was the construction done. I would love to add some singing tree's next year!

    Problems with Ray Wu?

Something I was warned about Ray in chat, and it happened with one of my orders was he will input a fake shipping reference number and the actual correct one will come days later. Just beware of this >:(

Coro stars, Big W LED powered

Blinky blink. In some effects you can spot the "circles" formed by the LED's - not sure what to do to correct this, but I am just living with it at the moment. I think they will still be a nice cheap addition to the display. IMG 1461

My first attempted layout with RGB

Just noticed your power wires to the controller are sorta on the thing side, you may want to beef them up a little bit.

Coro stars, Big W LED powered

Had a first play with some coro this afternoon. As I am only using BigW style LED strings, I opted for only 3mm. I was quite surprised by the amount of light given off with only 20 LED's plugged through.

    Another Hobby

I have a very expensive other hobby, mind you I think all hobbys are expensive if you get into them.
