I don't have the board powered. In the Canispater vid. it says not to have it connected to anything other than the programmer board. Should I have it connected to a power supply? That would be a simple fix if that is the issue! I've tried reversing the Txd and Txd wires, but it changed nothing.
Thank you! I at least got a little farther. The UI came up. I think the header pins on the board are not working, I may have flubbed the soldering on it. I'll wait for the REEFer board to get here from Renard, and hopefully, it will solve the issue, as I can just seat the esp on the REEFer...
