I put the second smaller tree in this year because I could it second hand so it wasn't much work to get it up.
I think ill get rid of it because I have the bigger one which I think most people look at that being so big!
I don't think ill get too many new lights so that's not really my goal...
I can put stuff on there however where the cars view it from the road, there is a hill so they won't be able to see it that easy as I have a retaining wall that kind of wraps around my front yard.
So the house sits up from the road and that's why I have everything there I suppose
Hey everyone, I am re doing my layout for next year being my 4th year in this hobby. I just wanted some input/ ideas for what I should do to make it better...?
This is 2023 Layout
New 2024 Layout - I have updated the 3D models to represent my front yard a bit more.
I will remove the smaller...
Nope, just have the plug hanging out of the box and use an extension lead to power it.
I think a 25mm or 32mm gland will pass through the smaller end of the power connection. If you know what I mean?
Buy a server power supply with a plug connection for 240v. That way your not doing any wiring for it. All you need to do is plug it into a socket and you will have 12vdc.
You can do all the wiring you want for the 12v side.
Yeah the side is fine, that is considered extra low voltage and anyone can work on that.
But if it requires you to wire anything that is connected to a general outlet I don't think it's allowed.
Not that I care anyway 🤣
I think the best option if you are nervous about connecting it wrong or having exposed 240v is to buy the server power supplies that have the lead and plug on them already. They are cheap and all you need to do it buy the break out board.
Where does it say that? I'm a sparky and as far as I know there is nothing that is allowable for "DIY" in the electrical industry in Australia. Happy to be proven wrong though 🤣
Unless you have a DMX port you won't be able to control them without it. I'm sure you would be able to buy a small DMX controller maybe from hanson electronics. Do you have any other controllers?
