I've still got the containers too lol. Just had a look at mine and a 1200 pack outputs 12W. So ( now I am no electronic engineer or mathematician ) but a 200W power supply could ( in theory ) power about 20000 lights or 16.666666 sets of 1200 lights.
As said above, check all the strings have the same voltage. I use a DMX2-18 with a S200-31 power supply which I also got from Al Hanson. All of my strings just happened to be 31v strings which made it easy, but I understand not all strings out there will be 31v.
Oh boy, I have a lot to learn, Thanks N.E.L. I was looking at the set up for the HE123 which says " In the example I've set 48 universes of 510 channels which gives 170 pixels per output" which I took as "that's the maximum per port" ( palm to face ). Will I need to reset the numbers in FFP on...
So i Have done that Cranzy and the model layout now looks like what I have actually made but I am limited to 510 channels ( 170 pixels ) per port, how do I split it into two ports to cover the 220 pixels? Or can I have more than 510 channels per port on a HE123?
Hi All, I have made a spiral tree ( starts at the bottom and spirals clockwise around and around and up to the top ) as my first pixel prop and was hoping for some guidance in setting it up in xlights. I went a bit OTT and it is now going to have more than 170 pixels so running it off one port...
Hi All, wow what a crazy year it's been. This year ( if I haven't left it too late ) I would like to dip my toe into pixels. Other than Falcon boards like the F16V4, what other brands and model's do people use? I had a look at the Pixel Controller.com site and the Falcon's are out of of stock...
Not sure if this is any help but this is what I do for my window strings. I have flat style gutter clips, cut off the end that would normally hook over the gutter and wedge it in between the top of the window frame and and the eave lining. I just hang them from the top and let gravity take care...
Hi Guys, Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help tonight. I just had a play with the CAT cable going from the dongle to the DMX board and it looks like it is faulty, so that may be the issue. I'll swap it out and see how I go.
Cheers All,
Dan
Had another play on Sunday and wired in 9 sets of lights, all working well now. Downloaded the QMV's also and will start working on sequencing now. Looks like I'm over the top of the hill and heading down the other side now. Thanks again Alan for all your time and help over the weekend, couldn't...
